Wall through conduit, also known as wall through pipe, waterproof conduit, or wall embedded pipe, is a type of hardware fitting or insulation support component used for pipelines passing through walls. It is widely used in fields such as construction and electricity. The following introduces the classification, structure, purpose, and selection points:
Classification and Characteristics
• Classified by waterproofing and usage scenarios
Rigid waterproof sleeve: composed of thick walled steel pipe and wing ring (a circular steel plate is fitted on the steel pipe). High strength and rigidity, capable of withstanding significant pressure and tension, not easily deformed or broken, effectively protecting pipelines. Through material and structural design, it has good waterproof performance, can isolate moisture and rainwater erosion, and has strong corrosion resistance, which can resist harsh environments and chemical substances erosion. Generally used in basements and other places where waterproofing is required and pipelines do not need to withstand vibration or expansion deformation. If the pipes in the basement of a building pass through the wall, prevent groundwater from seeping into the room.
Flexible waterproof conduit: It has wing rings on the outside and components such as retaining rings and flange threads on the inside. Suitable for structures where pipelines pass through walls and are subject to vibration or require tight waterproofing, such as civil defense walls, water tanks, water pump rooms, etc. The pipeline through the wall of a sewage treatment plant's water tank should not only prevent water leakage, but also adapt to the vibration during equipment operation.
• Classified by material and purpose
Ceramic insulated AC wall bushing (porcelain bushing): assembled from ceramic parts, mounting flanges, and conductors. Commonly used in the field of power, it serves as insulation and support for conductive parts passing through walls or other grounding objects.
Dry type capacitive AC wall bushing (silicone rubber bushing): oil-free, gas free, porcelain free, small in size, light in weight, low in maintenance workload, fire-resistant and explosion-proof, and equipped with high-precision through type current transformers. The voltage distribution along the surface is uniform, and using silicone rubber material as the external insulation can further improve the pollution flashover voltage.
structure
It is generally assembled from ceramic parts, mounting flanges, and conductors (for conductive through wall sleeves). The busbar through wall conduit does not have conductive parts. Except for some products that use mechanical clamping, the fixing method of porcelain sleeves and flanges is commonly used with cement adhesive; Copper conductors are fixed with centering washers and nuts, while copper and aluminum conductors are fixed with centering washers and open pins. To improve the initial corona, uniform voltage measures are adopted in the structure of some voltage levels (20, 35kV) of the bushing, such as increasing or thickening the porcelain wall and umbrella (edge) near the flange, applying semiconductor glaze on specific parts of the porcelain and baking them to short-circuit and improve the electric field distribution.
purpose
In the field of architecture, protecting pipelines passing through walls while meeting waterproofing, vibration reduction, and other requirements ensures the integrity of building structures and the normal operation of pipeline systems. It is widely used in various types of building plumbing, fire protection, ventilation, and other pipeline engineering.
In the field of electricity, it is used in power plants, substations, distribution equipment, and high-voltage electrical appliances to enable conductive parts to pass through walls or other grounding objects, providing insulation and support to ensure the safety and stability of power transmission.
Key selection points
• Type and pattern: Choose the indoor or outdoor type according to the installation location; Choose wall conduit with conductor or busbar type wall conduit without conductor according to the purpose
