Waterstop steel plate, also known as steel plate waterstop strip, is a commonly used waterstop material. The following is a detailed introduction to the waterproof steel plate:
1, Material characteristics
Water stop steel plates are generally made of corrosion-resistant materials such as galvanized or stainless steel, and some are processed from Q235 steel plates, which have good rigidity and durability. Water stop steel plates are usually designed in V-shaped, U-shaped, or flat plate shapes to meet different construction needs, and the edges are folded to increase the bonding strength with concrete.
2, Working principle
The waterproof steel plate is mainly installed at the joint between new and old concrete (construction joint). When water seeps through the joint, the waterproof steel plate can cut off the water's infiltration path. Even if water seeps through the gap between the steel plate and the concrete, the steel plate has a certain width, which can extend the path of water infiltration and achieve waterproof effect.
3, Specification and model
There are various specifications for waterproof steel plates, such as 200mm * 2mm, 200mm * 3mm, 300mm * 2mm, etc. The length is generally processed into 3m or 6m for easy transportation, and can also be customized according to usage needs. The thickness of the waterproof steel plate is usually required to be above 3mm, and the width is determined according to the design requirements.
4, Installation location and method
The waterproof steel plate is installed at the concrete joint and connected by welding or overlapping to form a continuous waterproof barrier. During the installation process, it should be ensured that the waterproof steel plate can be smoothly connected to the bottom plate reinforcement, and corresponding protective measures should be taken.
